App Building for Entrepreneurs

About this event

The GW Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship in partnership with Ycenter presents our newest bootcamp “App Building for Entrepreneurs” an experiential and interactive bootcamp focusing on how to create digital app solutions for startup, business, and social venture founders.

From food delivery to finding your next movie (and finding a date to the movie), in today’s world, people need solutions on their fingertips (quite literally). Cell and mobile phones have become ubiquitous with how one deals with everyday life. Yet many entrepreneurs and innovators are unsure how to go about conceptualizing, designing, and making apps user friendly and solve the customers problems. Often saying, “I need to get a developer” before taking the necessary and important steps that happen before you actually need to pay for a developer.

This experiential and interactive 2 day workshop exposes students to learn key techniques for building an app from scratch. How do you go from Planting an Idea seed to Creating a full blooming mobile application?! This workshop focuses on App development from a non-technical perspective. In the world of no code and low code applications, there are several tools available to build and deploy apps in much simpler ways.

Through the course of two days, students will learn, ideate, build and explore new ways to solve real problems using technology app driven solutions. We will use a combination of Design Thinking, Lean, and Agile methodology to easily build an app from the ground up.

This event will be held over the course of 2 days. Please see below for the exact times.

  • Friday, September 24: 10am - 4pm
  • Saturday, September 25: 10am - 3pm

Lunch will be provided both days for all participants (vegetarian options will be available).
