Join us for a book talk with Paul Kendrick BA '05, MPA '07, and his father, Stephen Kendrick, coauthors of Nine Days: The Race to Save Martin Luther King Jr.'s Life and Win the 1960 Election. Critically acclaimed by Oprah Magazine, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune and President Barack Obama, the book examines Martin Luther King Jr.’s courageous first imprisonment and how it clarified his path to changing a nation. It traces the success of an interracial team working on civil rights for the Kennedy campaign in shifting the Black vote to elect John Kennedy over Richard Nixon. Mary Tschirhart, director of the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration, will moderate the conversation.
