About this Event
800 21st Street NW, Washington DC 20052
This convening is inspired by the book written by Susan Bauer Wu, titled A Future We Can Love: How We Can Reverse the Climate Crisis with the Power of Our Hearts and Minds (Shambhala Press). Susan is the President of the Mind and Life Institute, co-founded by HH Dalai Lama in 1991. She wrote the book inspired by a conversation between the Dalai Lama and Greta Thunberg, and she features climate scientists and weaves together diverse perspectives, offering guidance for facing the climate emergency - building a more equitable and humane world for all beings. It provides practical action steps and inspires readers on a path to reverse the crisis for a future we can love.
Susan will join us in person, and together with other members of the GW community we will explore the role of higher education in addressing the climate crisis. Through a co-creative and open inquiry, this learning vignette is an invitation not only to exchange information, it also holds an intention for deeper sense making, creating a new field of awareness for critical reflexivity. This 'playground' is a call for inner reflection and outer action.
