Are you looking for some new, simple, effective strategies to add to your teaching toolkit? Are you trying to increase student engagement, or mix up a classroom that is feeling a bit stale? In this 30-minute workshop, we will describe what active learning is and why it is valuable before introducing a variety of active learning techniques that will work in many types of classrooms. You will leave with new strategies you can apply in your teaching context and/or new applications for strategies you already use.

This workshop is presented by the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE). The CTE provides comprehensive, integrated solutions for instructors in search of teaching solutions. If you need feedback on assignment or syllabus design, advice on teaching methods, or ideas for new activities, consider booking a consultation with the CTE.

All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact libraryevents@gwu.edu at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.
