Committed to the ethical handling of non-Western art, the Luther W. Brady Art Gallery, in partnership with the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design, is hosting a symposium exploring GW's African art collection. Using the PechaKucha format, students in Prof. Clement Akpang’s seminar on African art and museum politics will present their research into specific objects, tracing their creation, origin, ownership, and cultural contexts. In this culmination of the semester’s research, students will offer their findings and recommendations considering debates around contemporary museum ethics.
