OBJECTIVES
• Identify key limitations to confidentiality in behavioral
health research and strategies for navigating challenges in
adolescent communication
• Describe ethical and legal dimensions relevant to
adolescent sexual health research
• Explore challenges and responses to privacy and
confidentiality in HIV/AIDS adolescent research

• As a condition for receiving federal funding for health
research training grants and career development awards,
federal funders (including NIH, DOD, and NSF) mandates
all participants in training grants to receive training in RCR.
