The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum invites students, faculty and staff to join us for a themed tour of our centennial exhibition, Intrinsic Beauty: Celebrating the Art of Textiles. Led by a museum docent, this tour will explore the rich symbolism and artistry of birds as both motifs and materials in textiles. Highlights include Peruvian garments adorned with vibrant blue and yellow macaw feathers, and Chinese furniture covers that pull symbolic meaning from images of the crane.
