The Institue for African Studies, in partnership with the Sigur Center, will host this conversation on China's evolving and expansive relationship with Africa in the era of President Xi Jinping. Co-authors (and GW alumni) Ambassador David Shinn and Professor Joshua Eisenman will present their new book China's Relationship with Africa: A New Era of Strategic Engagement, examining the tactics and methods of Chinese engagement and the combination of factors that have elevated Africa in China's geostrategic calculations.
