 án y Puga is a Professor of Law at Iberoamericana University\, Mexico Cit
 y\, Mexico\, affiliated to the Center of Critical Studies on Gender and Fe
 minism. She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Los Andes (Colombia)
  and a Master of Laws from Columbia University (USA)\, where she was a Hum
 an Rights Fellow and a Fulbright Scholar. Her research focuses on gender\,
  law and social movements in Latin America\, particularly on the legal str
 ategies of feminist movements in Colombia and Mexico to promote reproducti
 ve rights. Previously\, she was a Professor of Law at University of El Ros
 ario in Colombia\, where she co-founded the gender and law research group.
  From 2022 to 2023\, she was an affiliated researcher at the Petrie-Flom C
 enter for Health Law Policy\, Biotechnology\, and Bioethics at Harvard Law
  School\, and has been a consultant to advance gender protocols in the jud
 iciary in Dominican Republic and the Latin American region. In 2009\, she 
 received the Romulo Gallegos Fellowship to advance women’s rights in the
  Inter-American Commission of Human Rights. Currently\, she is a member of
  Red Alas\, a Latin American network of legal scholars working to advance 
 gender and sexuality in legal research and education. Together with Dean R
 osa Celorio\, she co-edited the book Building Bridges: Contemporary Perspe
 ctives on Gender\, Sexuality and International Human Rights Law\, recently
  published by the University of El Rosario and Red Alas (2024) as an open
