Professor Tara M. Sinclair‚ PhD is chair-elect for the GW department of economics. She earned her MA and Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and is an expert in macroeconomics and economic forecasting. From 2022 to 2024‚ she held the role of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Macroeconomics at the U.S. Department of Treasury. She is also former chief economist at job search site Indeed.

Professor Irene Foster teaches Principles of Economics at GW‚ where she has educated nearly 12‚000 students since 2010. With degrees in economics and management from institutions in India and the U.S.‚ including a Ph.D. from Indiana University‚ her academic work has earned recognition from the American Marketing Association and the Marketing Science Institute. Prior to GW‚ she held teaching and research roles at Vanderbilt and Tennessee State University‚ directing projects for organizations like HCA and Cummins Filtration.

Professor Foster’s work focuses on economic education and learning assessment‚ especially in math preparedness and course outcomes. A recipient of numerous university-wide teaching awards‚ she was inducted into GW’s Academy of Distinguished Teachers in 2015. She has also served in university leadership roles in academic planning and assessment and is active nationally with organizations such as the College Board‚ ETS‚ and Macmillan.
