This event will explore best practices for managing and preserving your paper and digital files. Archivists will discuss the importance of preserving and caring for files that document our shared historical record. We will look at some common preservation risks that your files might face and ways to mitigate these threats. There will be additional information and presentations about community archives and archival repositories.

We will also do some hands-on activities through presentations of different at-risk material types in the GW Libraries and Academic Innovation (LAI) Special Collections.

All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact libraryevents@gwu.edu at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.

In-person attendance of this workshop is open to anyone whose GWorld allows them to tap into Gelman Library.
