With the boom of AI, partly accelerated by the launching of ChatGPT in December 2022, large language models and other AI tools have reached every corner of our society. Hosted by the GW Department of Statistics, the "Statistics in the Age of AI" conference from May 9 to 11 brings together researchers in academics and industries to explore the impact of AI on statistical research and education, and also to brainstorm how statistics can contribute to AI.

Speakers and panelists include recipients of the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies (COPSS) Presidents' Award (the highest honor in the field of Statistics), Guggenheim Fellows, members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the United States National Academy of Sciences, and elected fellows of the American Statistical Association, the Institute for Mathematical Statistics and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
