The Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the University Writing Program present the Summer 2025 GW Faculty Writing Retreat, to be held June 3–5, 2025. Facilitated by Danika Myers and Jessica McCaughey, both from the University Writing Program, this retreat provides time to work on writing projects in progress, time to plan or begin new projects, and opportunities to discuss your writing and research with colleagues from across the university.

Scholars and researchers are invited to bring writing projects of any genre and at any stage. At previous retreats, participants have worked on journal articles, conference presentations, book proposals, book outlines, book chapters, grant proposals, literature reviews, creative projects, and more!

The retreat is structured around blocks of individual writing time, with daily guided goal setting, check-ins, and reflection. There will also be daily opportunities for:

  • 1-on-1 coaching sessions with a facilitator;
  • developing productive writing habits; and
  • discussing writing and research with faculty from across the university.

Registration required (at capacity, accepting waitlist)!
