Data Management and Sharing Plans (DMSPs) are crucial for research involving data collection or analysis and are increasingly mandated by major funding agencies like the NIH and NSF. In this workshop, librarians from Libraries and Academic Innovation and Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library will offer an overview of DMSP best practices and resources. Participants will be introduced to the latest DMSP templates required by key federal funding agencies, particularly the NSF and NIH, as well as an overview of GW's DMSP template to clarify institutional expectations. The workshop will also introduce participants to practical tools that facilitate data management and sharing, such as the DMP Tool, ORCiD, and SciENcv. By the end of the session, participants will be well-equipped to develop robust DMSPs that align with the evolving demands of funding agencies and support collaborative research efforts.

This workshop is part of the Collecting, Managing, and Sharing Data Responsibly series for GW community members looking to develop data collection, effective data management plans, and sharing strategies that address privacy concerns while enabling sharing of data for reproducibility.

All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact libraryevents@gwu.edu at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.
