As the capital city, D.C. has repeatedly found itself at the center of the nation’s ongoing struggle for freedom, representation and equal rights. Drawing from special collections at GW, this exhibition highlights some of the D.C. leaders and events that have shaped these fights, from anti-slavery campaigns to the Civil Rights movement.
This exhibition is organized by the Albert H. Small Center for National Capital Area Studies with support from the Albert and Shirley Small Family Foundation.
This exhibition is available through July 20, 2024.
