The George Washington University's Institute for Data, Democracy & Politics and the Election Coverage and Democracy Network invite you to join us for Defending Democracy: A Conversation with Liz Cheney.
Please join us for a fireside chat between Former US Congresswoman Liz Cheney and President & CEO of the Knight Foundation Maribel Pérez Wadsworth.
The event's core objective is to raise awareness and understanding regarding responsible and appropriate reporting of Election Day 2024, as well as its aftermath, including potential attempts to delegitimize the elections and the possibility of violence.
Please review the following details carefully before submitting your registration.
- Seating inside Jack Morton Auditorium is limited. Registration does not guarantee you a seat inside the auditorium. Overflow space will be available on the second floor of the Media & Public Affairs building. To secure a seat, we recommend arriving when doors open at 4:15pm.
- Once the program begins, no (re-)entry to the auditorium will be permitted.
- To ensure everyone's safety, the following policies will be in effect:
- Bags exceeding 4.5" x 6.5" in size will not be permitted inside the auditorium. A coat check will be available for large bags, backpacks and purses.
- All attendees will be subject to a bag check and security screening.
- No food or drink, including reusable water bottles, will be permitted inside the auditorium. Such items may be placed inside your bag and checked in at coat check.
- No signage of any type will be permitted inside the auditorium.
- Guests who violate any of the above policies may be removed from the event.
