About this Event
In response to the growing emphasis on data sharing within the research community, researchers are now often urged or obligated to share their data. This task becomes challenging when handling datasets containing sensitive identifiers of individuals and organizations. This workshop provides participants with an understanding of various types of identifiers and equips them with the skills to assess the disclosure risk associated with their data. Additionally, attendees will be introduced to a range of tools and resources provided by GW to facilitate the effective de-identification of data for secure sharing.
This workshop is part of the Collecting, Managing, and Sharing Data Responsibly series for GW community members looking to develop data collection, effective data management plans, and sharing strategies that address privacy concerns while enabling sharing of data for reproducibility.
All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, and staff. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact libraryevents@gwu.edu at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.
