The Graduate School of Political Management is pleased to present the 2024 Paul O'Dwyer Endowed Forum for Political Ethics, The Normalization of Impeachments: History, Ethics, and Implications. This year's speakers for the forum are US Representative Jamie Raskin (D, Maryland’s 8th District) and Former US Representative Rodney Davis (R, Illinois's 13th District from 2013 to 2023).

The conversation will give a behind-the-scenes look at how the impeachment process has played out in recent years, including incites from Rep. Raskin, a professor of constitutional law for decades, and the Democrat’s lead impeachment manager in the second Senate impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump. Both Reps. Raskin and Davis will offer their thoughts on the threat of impeachment becoming a new normal in our politics and what we, as interested citizens, can do about it. In addition to this exciting speaker lineup, this event will also be a live recording for the GSPM Mastering the Room podcast.

Prior to the panel discussion, you are invited to network at a reception on the second floor of the Media and Public Affairs Building (805 21st Street NW). The panel begins promptly at 5:15 pm.

This event is open to the GW community.

This endowed event series is focused on ensuring students and the GW community continue to emphasize the role of ethics in politics.
