The Research Enhancement Unit within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research is offering a series of workshops for grant writers. Participants will learn tips for developing winning proposals, managing cross-disciplinary project teams, and working with funders.

The sessions are virtual and open to all faculty, staff, postdocs and students. There is no fee for GW participants. A GW email address is required for registration.

Ins & Outs of Federal Funding

This workshop compares funding programs at six important federal agencies:  the Departments of Agriculture and Energy, the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities, the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation.

Dr. Bob Lowman, our guest presenter, discusses the mission statements and strategic planning goals of each agency, explores their structures and funding mechanisms, identifies unique attributes of their various funding programs, examines sample solicitations, and compares their methods of merit review.
