The George Washington University, College of Professional Studies, will host a Virtual DHS Career Panel on October 24, 2023, from 6 pm to 7 pm.
Professionals from the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), will be participating and speaking to students about how they joined DHS/CBP, life as an Officer, career paths within CBP, and experiences that lead to their positions.
Following the panel discussion will be a Q&A session.
Panelists
David Campos is a Supervisory CBP Task Force Officer within the New York Field Office, National Security Division, overseeing CBP Task Force Officers assigned to various Counterintelligence Task Forces in New York and New Jersey. David has served as a Task Force Officer since 2021, building and maintaining relationships with multiple law enforcement and intelligence agencies in the New York and New Jersey area, as well as nationally across the DHS and CBP landscape. David started his career with CBP in 2013 and has worked in various enforcement roles at the Port of New York/Newark and the New York Field Office, both as an Officer, Program Manager, and Supervisor.
Brian Hayes is the Deputy Chief of the New York Field Office Criminal Division, overseeing CBP Task Force Officers and Managers assigned to various criminal investigative task forces in the New York and New Jersey area. Brian has served as a task force Officer since 2015, first as a member of the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) and most recently as a member of the FBI’s Criminal Division task force. Brian continues to liaise with a host of law enforcement partner agencies, foreign law enforcement counterparts, and both public and private stakeholders in his role. Brian started his career with CBP in 2006 and has worked in various enforcement roles at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), both as an Officer and as a supervisor.
