GW Latino Alumni Network- Alumni Career Panel (Online)

Event Description

Please join us for a virtual career panel hosted by the GW Latino Alumni Network. Panelists will share about their career journey‚ work-life balance‚ and navigating career or workplace challenges related to racial‚ ethnic‚ and/or other intersecting social identities. Audience members will be able to ask questions and share their reflections through the Zoom platform.

Participation in this event is free‚ but registration is required. The event is open to the entire GW community‚ welcoming individuals of all races and identities. If you have any inquiries‚ please email us at alumni@gwu.edu.

Panelists

Skye Blanks ESIA ’21‚ GWSB ’23                                             Skye Blanks serves as the Chief Operations Officer for the International Council for Small Business (ICSB)‚ the oldest and largest nonprofit organization devoted to small businesses internationally. Skye is also the acting Director of the ICSB Knowledge Hubs (KHubs) program‚ which are institutions and networks dedicated to capture‚ share and exchange development experiences with national and international partners in order to accelerate development for micro-small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Before dedicating his work towards the ICSB‚ Skye served as a GW Presidential Fellow working as a project manager in the GW School of Business‚ Department of Management as well as a Treasury Scholar‚ working in the US Department of Treasury’s Office of Development Results and Accountability‚ within the Office of International Affairs.

skye blanks Zauresh Kezheneva GWSB ’12 Zauresh is responsible for IFC’s funding operations out of Washington‚ DC‚ with a focus on the North American market. She issues bonds and manages relations with bond investors. Before joining IFC Treasury in 2015‚ Zauresh worked with the World Bank capital markets advisory team. Prior to that‚ she was a legal counsel with Bracewell & Giuliani law firm‚ capital markets practice‚ for four years.
Zauresh holds an MBA degree from George Washington University and a BA in International Law from Eurasian National University. Zauresh Kezheneva.jpgAna Sierra Dr. Sierra earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Political Science from Saint Peter’s College. She earned a master’s in clinical counseling psychology with a concentration in Latino/a Mental Health. She completed her PhD in International Psychology: Trauma Services Concentration. In her professional experience of over 17 years‚ she has worked with adults‚ children and adolescents from outpatient‚ residential and home/community environments. She has specifically worked with post-traumatic stress disorder‚ depression‚ anxiety‚ behavioral challenges‚ chronic mental illness‚ and complex trauma. Dr. Sierra conducts comprehensive evaluations for immigration cases.

At the international level‚ Dr. Sierra has served survivors of sexual violence through developing and supporting psycho-social programs in Guatemala‚ El Salvador‚ Bolivia‚ and the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Sierra is the Co-Founder of the Latina Healing Institute‚ A healing space for mujeres luchadoras! The Latina Healing Institute was created for‚ and is run by‚ Latina women.

In 2022‚ Dr. Sierra began her Podcast “Encuentros con la Dra. Ana Sierra” a Spanish-speaking space to bring topics that affect the Latinx Community.

Dr. Sierra often makes appearances in Telemundo44‚ has been recognized in newspapers such as: El Tiempo Latino‚ El Imparcial‚ and Mundo Latino.

Dr. Sierra has been awarded the 2021 Central American Awards as a Community Psychologist and the 2021 Distinguished Alumni Award from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Ana_Professional12.jpg
