The GW community in London is invited to join us for a reception and panel discussion led by Elliott School Dean Alyssa Ayres on “Geoeconomics in International Affairs‚” as part of the Elliott School Dean’s Global Perspective Series.

Jonathan Aiken‚ ESIA MA‚ GWSB MBA ’07‚ is Partner at BDA Partners. He joined BDA in 2007 and is responsible for the London office and strategy. Aiken’s oversight role in London includes a broad range of sectors including industrials‚ technology‚ and consumer. He specialises in complex‚ cross-border transactions including corporate carveouts. His clients include EQT‚ Tata Group‚ Actis‚ LDC and Donaldson.
Sarah Carlson‚ ESIA MA ’95‚ is Senior Vice President of Sovereign Risk at Moody’s Investors Service in Paris‚ France. She is currently the lead analyst for France and Italy‚ among other European countries‚ and is also one of the Sovereign Risk Group’s global spokespeople. Carlson joined Moody’s in 2009 after completing a Sloan Fellowship at the London Business School. Previously‚ she spent seven years at the Financial Services Authority in London where she headed the regulator’s Risk Analysis area and acted as its chief macroeconomist. Prior to that‚ she worked in Dun & Bradstreet’s Economic Analysis Group‚ where she was the organisation’s Deputy Chief Economist.
Kelly Miely‚ ESIA BA ’03‚ is Partner at Deloitte MCS Limited in London‚ leading their capability in Buying‚ Merchandising & Supply Chain. She has over 20 years experience working with clients across the Fashion‚ Luxury‚ Retail and Consumer Products sectors to shape the operating strategy and deliver business-led data‚ technology‚ organisation‚ and process-enabled change. Previously‚ Miely worked for Accenture in London and Gap‚ Inc.‚ where she helped set up their UK product headquarters.
Moderator: Alyssa Ayres joined GW’s Elliott School of International Affairs as dean on February 1‚ 2021. She is a foreign policy practitioner and award-winning author with senior experience in the government‚ nonprofit‚ and private sectors. From 2013 to 2021‚ she was senior fellow for India‚ Pakistan‚ and South Asia at the Council on Foreign Relations‚ where she remains an adjunct senior fellow. From 2010 to 2013‚ Ayres served as deputy assistant secretary of state for South Asia. Her work focuses primarily on India’s role in the world and on U.S. relations with South Asia in the larger Indo-Pacific.
