  Miller as she discusses key public art projects and initiatives that brin
 g together sustainability and creativity. She will focus on the 19th Stree
 t Rain Gardens in downtown DC\, which includes green infrastructure\, nati
 ve plants\, public art\, and artist-designed educational signage. Karyn wi
 ll also discuss the DC Office of Planning’s Streets for People initiativ
 e. This planning project led to the pedestrianization of several key areas
  in downtown DC and the creation of a pop-up plaza\, a sidewalk extension 
 and a series of parklets to bring green space and promote walkability with
 in a dense\, urban core.\n\nMs. Miller will share her most recent work wit
 h the City of Rockville\, MD where her efforts were awarded a prestigious 
 Bloomberg Philanthropies Asphalt Art Initiative grant to improve safety by
  adding pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure as well as vibrant artworks 
 to a street in Rockville Town Center.\n\nThis is a virtual event open to s
