 he Master of Science in Applied Mathematics program pairs a mathematical ba
 ckground with an additional focus area of the student’s choice. The interdi
 sciplinary curriculum prepares students for careers and further study in hi
 gh-performance computing\, statistics\, computer science\, business and mor
 e. \n\nThe Master of Arts in Mathematics degree program builds students’ ex
 pertise in sophisticated mathematical concepts\, including analysis\, combi
 natorics\, dynamical systems\, knot theory\, logic and topology. MA student
 s can also take advantage of research opportunities (either for course cred
 it or independently)\, internships at D.C. institutions and consortium clas
