Attendees will learn basic skills in QGIS, a free and open source geographic information system, including how to work with the fundamental building blocks of GIS analysis - points, polygons, and lines. In this session, we will create and format a map of DC displaying wards, census tracts with demographic information, and public schools. No prior experience in GIS is required!

Participants should download and install QGIS on their personal device to fully participate in this workshop.

All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact libraryevents@gwu.edu at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.
