DESCRIPTION:GW Libraries now has access to Ancestry.com Library Edition\, w
 hich supports genealogical and scholarly research. Attendees will learn the
  basics of navigating the massive collection of census\, military\, immigra
 tion\, and vital records in Ancestry.com\; including an overview of the typ
 es of records available\, how and why one might use these records in their 
 research\, and how to search. During the workshop\, we will practice search
  and retrieval techniques in Ancestry and practice reading original documen
 ts available in the database.\n\nFor those who might be off-campus\, attend
 ees will need the GW VPN installed and running to ensure access to Ancestry
 .com.\n\nAll sessions are free to GW students\, faculty\, staff\, and alumn
