Intent vs. Impact: Understanding Cultural Values to guide Interactions with Students Malerie Gamblin, M.Ed. designed this presentation to give concrete examples of potential biases that faculty or staff may have when working with students and different techniques used to mitigate and become more self-aware of bias while working with students. There will be interactive activities within the session where we will take real student situations/cases, examine the bias that could be present, and use the tools shared in this presentation to navigate the situation with kindness and culture in mind.
