About this Event
Interested in learning more about trauma-informed care through a survivor-centered, anti-violence, and harm reduction lens. Join us for Meeting Survivors Where They Are: The Heart of Trauma-Informed Care on Thursday April 17th and April 24th from 6pm-7pm.
Participants will deepen their understanding of how trauma impacts behavior, decision-making, and access to support. Together, we’ll examine how we can adapt our approaches to honor survivors’ autonomy, identities, and lived experiences, especially in environments that often prioritize control, compliance, or perfection over care. Grounded in a commitment to reducing harm and resisting punitive responses to trauma, this session invites participants to unpack what it truly means to meet survivors where they are—emotionally, culturally, developmentally, and socially. We’ll explore how this approach builds trust, fosters healing, and strengthens community resilience while actively disrupting systems of violence, oppression, and exclusion.
