DESCRIPTION:Join us for an info session about the Spring 2024 Short-Term Ab
 road Program (STAP) on Speech Language Pathology practice in Mexico (SPHR 
 6291) with Professor Erin Anne Cardman and Professor Cynthia Core.\n\nThis
  course\, led by Professor Erin Anne Cardman and Professor Cynthia Core.\,
  will introduce students to the skills necessary for practice as a cultura
 lly competent clinician\, while participating in international collaborati
 ons in speech-language pathology. In collaboration with existing partners 
 at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro\, students will have the opport
 unity to meet with local professionals\; visit numerous service delivery s
 ites\, observe\, and collaborate with health and education service provide
 rs and experience and evaluate the scope of practice in Speech Language Pa
 thology in Mexico. Students will also participate in one of two language c
 ourses (beginner-intermediate or advanced) to learn Spanish terminology sp
 ecific to SLP.  In addition to the professional site visits and collaborat
 ions\, students will participate in several rich cultural events and encou
 nters. Upon return to the US\, students will complete a group summative pr
 oject detailing their learning experience and addressing the implications 
 for multicultural service delivery in SLP both at home and abroad. This un
 ique opportunity for students allows them and participating faculty to est
 ablish lasting personal and professional relationships with partners in Me
 xico.\n\nIn addition to the GW Passport Pre-Decision application\, a brief
  interview with Professor Cardman is required. Please email Professor Card
