After 10 years of semi-democratic governance and an active peace process between
the government and various ethnic nationality organizations in Myanmar, the
military retook control in February 2021. Seeing hard-won political, economic, and
social progress reversed, much of the population has engaged in various forms of
resistance activities. The panelists will provide an assessment of the current
situation in Myanmar with particular attention given to gender and ethnic
nationality perspectives.
