In this informational webinar designed for GW current and emeritus faculty and staff‚ we will discuss the importance of naming beneficiaries for your retirement and other financial accounts‚ how to do so‚ and how beneficiary designations can be a part of a larger estate and philanthropic planning process.
Val Volkau is an Executive Wealth Management Advisor at TIAA (tiaa.org)‚ a financial services organization and leading provider of asset management and retirement services for the academic‚ research‚ medical and cultural fields. In his role as an Executive Wealth Management Advisor at TIAA‚ Val is focused on helping participants plan for their financial well-being and retirement readiness. He meets with clients one-on-one and provides personalized advice and holistic financial wellness planning‚ including specific asset allocation and fund selection recommendations based on the plan’s investment options.
Val began his financial services career in 2006 and has been with TIAA since 2015. He serves clients from the local Washington D.C. TIAA office.
Val holds an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology and a BA in International Affairs from the George Washington University. He has FINRA Series 6‚ 7‚ 63‚ 65 registrations and maintains Life‚ Health and Variable Annuity licenses in various states. Additionally‚ Val has obtained the Certified Financial Planner® designation.
