The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) application cycle is open! This prestigious program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees.

The Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships (OGSAF) is hosting an information session to provide students with an overview of the NSF GRFP, and application advice from GW faculty and students who have valuable experience working with this program. 

INFORMATION SESSION DETAILS

Thursday, September 12th from 11:00-1:45pm | Science and Engineering Hall, Room B1220

Please note this will be an in-person only event. Lunch will be provided for all attendees.

This information session is best utilized by:

  • First-year graduate students in a research-based STEM master's or doctoral degree program
  • Undergraduate junior and senior students interested in pursuing a research-based STEM master's or doctoral degree program

Basic Eligibility Requirements for NSF GRFP*

  • Be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident
  • Intend to enroll or be enrolled full-time in a research-based Master's or doctoral degree program in an eligible Field of Study in STEM or STEM education (see list of eligible fields of study on our website)
  • Have completed no more than one academic year (according to GW's academic calendar) while enrolled in a graduate degree program
