About this Event
Effective data sharing is a cornerstone of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) practices. However, navigating the requirements and procedures for sharing data – from sensitive institutional records to public research outputs – is often challenging. This joint workshop, hosted by the GWIT Data Governance and Libraries and Academic Innovation, provides guidance on aligning these practices with policy. We will explain the key differences between institutional/administrative data and research data, explain how to identify and comply with the policies for both, and establish where administrators, educators, and researchers can access expert support and resources to ensure compliant, secure data sharing.
All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact libraryevents@gwu.edu at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.
