Join the Department of Romance, German and Slavic Languages and Literatures' Sergio Waisman for a talk about his ongoing, collaborative work translating poetry from Argentina into English, and from American English into Spanish. He will consider the importance of such projects, especially at times of social and political upheavals, through specific examples from his most recent publications of poetry in translation: Interior Landscape / El paisaje interior by the Argentine poet Mirta Rosenberg (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2013), and La velocidad de las tinieblas / The Speed of Darkness by U.S. poet Muriel Rukeyser (Salta el pez Ediciones, 2013).
