DESCRIPTION:Qualitative Coding: Getting Inside the Mind of a Qualitative Re
 searcher\n\nIn this workshop\, led by Dr. Abigail Konopasky\, Ph.D.\, parti
 cipants will have an opportunity to work with an experienced qualitative re
 searcher to learn how to think qualitatively through the interpretative pro
 cess. In addition to a brief introduction to what qualitative coding is and
  what we hope to gain from it\, participants will have a chance to practice
  different coding techniques on some sample data.\n\nSession Objectives for
  Participants:\n\nDescribe what qualitative coding is and the purpose for d
 oing it.Examine the interpretative process from initial coding to composing
  findings.Identify and practice several different approaches to qualitative
  coding.Dr. Abigail Konopasky holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from 
 George Mason University and a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Slavic Linguistics f
 rom Princeton University. She is the Director of Medical Education Research
  and Scholarship for the Geisel School of Medicine\, where she uses her tra
 ining in educational psychology\, methodology\, and language to help facult
 y members take scholarly approaches to medical education and build active r
 esearch programs. She publishes qualitative\, quantitative\, and mixed meth
 ods research in medical education\, with a research focus on equity and ant
 iracism. She also serves on the editorial boards of Teaching and Learning i
 n Medicine\, Perspectives on Medical Education\, and Advances in Health Sci
 ences Education.\n\nEarn 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ by attending. This
