Attendees will learn the basics of the socratic method, a variety of questioning techniques, as well as Bloom's Taxonomy. During the workshop, peer educators will examine case studies and develop a set of questions that are appropriate for the level of complexity of the course, student level of comprehension, and the task at hand. Peer educators will also develop their own repertoire of questions they can employ at each level of Bloom's Taxonomy.

This workshop is part of the Strategies for Effective Peer Education series to provide peer tutors and learning assistants with the knowledge and skills to help students master challenging course content, strengthen foundational skills, and meet diverse student needs. This series is facilitated by Academic Commons, which is certified through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), an internationally recognized organization that certifies tutor training programs within institutions of higher education.

All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals.
