Please join Dr. Griffith and Ms. Herrier for this informal "fireside chat" as they share their experience in upholding good standards in creating a civil, safe, and productive research environment.

Through the conversation, attendees will achieve the following learning outcomes:

  • principles of civility and collegiality as they relate to working with fellow researchers at all levels of their careers;
  • maintaining integrity in the face of challenging situations;
  • establishing effective communication and learning to manage conflicts and barriers to communication;
  • understanding how to navigate grey zones, particularly when facing a power imbalance among team members.

Kathleen Griffith, PhD, MPH, CRNP, FAAN, is professor and Associate Dean for Research at the George Washington University School of Nursing. Her research focuses on cancer-related symptom reduction in racial minority and U.S Veteran populations.
