The Onero Institute Gala is an annual event supporting our mission of bridging the divide between youth and the professional community in the field of foreign affairs and developing the next generation of leaders.

 

The Gala is a night of celebration and community, with proceeds going towards the programming and educational opportunities the Onero Institute creates for young professionals pursuing careers in international relations and diplomacy. The event brings together professionals and students from across the field including leading scholars, analysts, an officials to network, share ideas, and support the next generation of global leaders.

 

Guests can enjoy and elegant evening of dinner, networking, and entertainment, while also learning about the important work of the Onero Institute and it’s global impact. It will be truly inspiring and memorable event that highlights the accomplishments of our members from the last year as well as our plans for the future. Cocktail attire recommended.

 

2023 Bridge Award Winner

Each year, Onero Institute members select one guest speaker to honor with the Bridge Award for their dedication to intergenerational dialogues in international affairs.

We are pleased to announce that our 2023 Bridge Award winner is celebrated author, policy expert, and Brookings Fellow Dr. Madhia Afzal! Afzal is a fellow in the Foreign Policy program at Brookings. She was previously the David M. Rubenstein Fellow in the Foreign Policy program. Her work focuses on the U.S.-Pakistan relationship, U.S. policy toward Afghanistan, Pakistan’s politics and policy, and extremism in South Asia and beyond. Afzal is the author of “Pakistan Under Siege: Extremism, Society, and the State,” published by the Brookings Institution Press in 2018. She was also awarded a spot on Politica's list of "Top 100 Global Thinkers".
