Despite decades of global commitments, gender-based violence remains a harsh reality in in war-torn and crisis-affected regions. This panel will examine the systemic and intersecting forms of violence endured by women and girls amid armed conflict and public health emergencies. Through case studies from North Kivu, DRC, the Yemeni War, the Tigray conflict in Ethiopia, and the COVID-19 crisis in Kenya, panelists will explore the gendered dimensions of war and crisis. Panelsits will discuss pathways to justice, the role of international policy, and strategies for survivor-centered interventions that prioritize accountability, healing, and long-term structural change.
