About this Event
2130 H Street NW, Washington DC 20052
Discussions can be enormously valuable for student learning but they are also challenging to facilitate effectively. Join us to look at ways to revitalize discussions in your classroom. We’ll start with figuring out why your students are struggling to participate in your class specifically before talking about some ideas for growing student participation. We will also talk about how to assess discussions in terms of participation and in terms of their value for student learning. Note that this workshop is intended for faculty; "Help! My Students Aren't Talking!" is designed for graduate assistants.
All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact libraryevents@gwu.edu at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.
