Tenebrae is a special service lit by candlelight that prepares us to enter into the mystery of Christ's Passion. It is made up of a series of readings, and psalms during which the candles are extinguished one by one ending in darkness (tenebrae). It is a meditative and somber entrance into the most sacred three days of the Christian Calendar (The Triduum). Join us at Epiphany Catholic Church in Georgetown at 7pm for the Tenebrae Service. We will walk over there together from Newman after our regular 6:10pm mass.
