Stop by the museum anytime between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. to see examples of visibly mended clothing and watch live demonstrations of bold, beautiful repair techniques with textile artist Alison Davis-Holland and a team of expert “Mend-tors” from Art on the Mend. Try your hand at time-honored methods such as “sashiko” stitching, patching, microweave darning and needle felting using provided garments and textiles. Whether you are new to mending or a seasoned maker, discover how visible mending can transform worn pieces into renewed favorites — and celebrate the beauty of keeping clothing in use for a longer time. Join us and experience repair as both craft and creative community.
