Join the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration's Center for Washington Area Studies and the D.C. Policy Center for a timely, data-driven discussion on the District of Columbia and the Capital Region, including insights from the 2026 State of the Capital Region report. 

The event will feature two short presentations by Daniel Burge (D.C. Policy Center) and TSPPPA Professor Leah Brooks (Center for Washington Area Studies) highlighting key economic trends in the District of Columbia and the Capital Region in the past year. Special attention will be paid to employment trends and the loss of federal government jobs. 

Following the presentations, we are pleased to host an expert panel, moderated by The Washington Post's Federica Cocco.
