Gun violence is one of today’s most urgent public health challenges, taking thousands of lives and leaving countless others injured each year. Despite this toll, research into the causes and prevention of gun violence often faces significant hurdles, from political resistance and limited funding to deep social divides. Addressing this complex issue requires a strong commitment to ethics, scientific rigor, and collaboration across research, advocacy, and policy.
