How did Britain's two most prominent armaments firms build their fortunes? In The Business of Armaments: Armstrongs, Vickers and the International Arms Trade, 1855–1955 (Cambridge University Press), the author presents a comparative analysis of these firms, and the domestic strategies and foreign policies they employed against the backdrop of imperial expansion and two world wars.
The event will be held in-person and livestreamed, and light refreshments will be served. The event will begin with the author's presentation, and end with a moderated Q&A with the audience.
