[Un]framed: Indigenous Peoples and Lands in Focus is a joint project of the Museum Studies and Interaction Design programs at the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design.
Last fall, the Museum Studies Curatorial Research & Planning class began researching a collection of late nineteenth-century photographic prints in the George Washington University Collection. The photographs were taken as part of US-sponsored expeditions westward. The class engaged in ongoing consultation with the Diné, Hopi, and Zuni peoples whose ancestors are in these photographs. In the spring, the Museum Studies Exhibition Development class curated this exhibition. Interaction Design students in Collaborative Design Project developed the digital interactives.
