"We Know Who They Are" (WKWTA) by Conflicted Art, founded by Yevgen Nemchenko and GW Corcoran’s Studio Arts student Benjamin Cunningham, is an immersive multimedia project highlighting Russian war atrocities in Ukraine. Conceived in early 2023, the exhibit features contemporary Ukrainian art, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and collages, depicting the conflict's tragedy and resilience. It includes a video with firsthand accounts and interactive displays with artifacts like Russian jet fragments, a propeller from a downed Iranian Shahed suicide drone and personal items from a Ukrainian soldier. Events include an opening on Ukrainian Independence Day, talk panels, art walks, and art therapy sessions. An exhibit book is available for those seeking more information. Research, funded by a Luther Rice Fellowship, will be conducted as a part of the project and the findings will be published in journals and presented at conferences. The founders aim to show the exhibit domestically and internationally to raise awareness about the ongoing conflict.
