Featuring: Dr. A.C. Maxwell, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University
GSEHD is pleased to announce the first installment of our new series, "What Do We Mean By." Dr. A.C. Maxwell, GW physician and advocate for marginalized and vulnerable communities, will discuss the meaning of 'non binary.' After Dr. Maxwell's presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and reflect in small groups.
About the Speaker: D. A.C. Maxwell
Dr. A.C. Maxwell is a dual board certified General and Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician currently practicing in Washington, DC. Dr. Maxwell is also fellowship trained in pediatric point of care ultrasound and is currently the director of the pediatric resident emergency medicine ultrasound elective within their institution. Maxwell is passionate about harm reduction and LGBTQ+ health, equity, and knowledge. Maxwell strives to integrate this into their clinical and volunteer work as well as educational initiatives. This passion led to the completion of a LGBTQ Health Policy certification program through the George Washington University. Maxwell is currently co-director of an integrated educational series geared towards pediatric emergency providers' clinical delivery and knowledge in addressing LGBTQ health concerns. Additionally, Maxwell is a staunch advocate for marginalized and vulnerable communities and an active volunteer for several organizations focusing on harm reduction in the greater Washington, DC community.
