Join the University Writing in the Disciplines (WID) Program for an interactive workshop. You'll pick up tips and tactics from faculty from across the disciplines for using writing to introduce students to the practices of your discipline and helping them to produce work that's more complex, thoughtful, and polished. Each faculty panelist will first offer a brief account of their most effective strategies for fostering engaged student writing, then lead hands-on activities in breakout groups to dig deeper into this pedagogy and invite you to share your ideas as well!

This year's panelists will include:

  • Professor Sarah A. Binder | Professor of Political Science
  • Professor Jocelyne Brant | Assistant Professor of French, Winner of the 2019 WID Best Syllabus Design Award
  • Professor Fran Buntman | Assistant Professor of Sociology
  • Professor Murray Snyder | Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and International Affairs, Winner of the 2019 WID Distinguished Teaching Award

While aimed at WID Faculty and GAs, all GW instructors and graduate students are invited to attend -- those who teach WID, those interested in WID, and those who'd just like to learn what their colleagues are up to in the classroom. Please share widely with your colleagues who may be interested!

Lunch will be provided only for those who RSVP.
