Please join us for the 12th Annual Richard and Janet Southby Distinguished Lectureship in Comparative Health Policy. This annual lecture is made possible by a generous gift from Drs. Richard and Janet Southby.

This year's Southby Lecture will be delivered by David Michaels, PhD, MPH.

Dr. Michaels is an epidemiologist and professor in the Department of Environmental Health at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health. He is the author of The Triumph of Doubt: Dark Money and the Science of Deception (Oxford University Press, 2020). Dr. Michaels has held Senate-confirmed public health positions in the administrations of President Barack Obama (in which he was Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health, the longest serving administrator in OSHA's history) and President Bill Clinton (Assistant Secretary of Energy, Environment, Safety and Health). He was a member of the Biden-Harris Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board and the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine expert panel that developed "A Framework for Equitable Allocation of Vaccine for the Novel Coronavirus."
